It’s still national holiday in China, waking up in a fine morning only to find a great IT hero has passed away made it the saddest day of my life. We all use Apple products, iPhone, iPad, Macbooks, etc.

They changed our lives more than we sometimes realize–at the recent TED salon in Shanghai, the speaker told us his mentor’s 4 year old son tried the zooming gesture on a real photo.

This not Chinese tech that I usually write about, but it’s the respect we at TechRice want to show to the man who changed world again and again.

The good folks at Sina made a video in memory of Steve, and a public page on both Weibo and Sina Tech. As I’m writing now, there are already over 34 million posts in Weibo about Steve’s passing and Apple’s future.

And all posts sent from Sina Weibo’s iPhone and iPad client will be marked as “Sent from Jobs’ iPhone – 来自乔布斯的iPhone” & “Sent from Job’s iPad – 来自乔布斯的iPad”

To see how Chinese see Steve’s life achievements Sina also launched several polls and not surprisingly the i-devices (iPod, iPhone, iPad) are voted as the greatest products from Apple under Steve’s leadership. With Steve’s passing 29%, think Apple will be on a path of decline.

Whether Apple will decline we cannot say for sure, but one thing that might turn the disappointing iPhone 4S around is that now it’s the iPhone 4 Steve, which is how head of Microsoft China Zhang YaQin puts it this morning.

From Jiepang, anyone who checks-in at an Apple Store today will receive a Thanks Steve badge.

Youku, has also compiled a page for Steve with all of the videos of the greatest moments of his life. And apart from the trademark keynotes announcing amazing new Apple products, the most popular video is of Steve at the 2005 Stanford graduation speech:

Stay hungry, stay foolish.
Finally, yet another video from Steve’s fans on his life (background music The Reason – Hoobastank):
