BarCamp Shanghai is back and bigger than ever. Under the leadership of Techyizu, this event has blossomed so that the next iteration on Sep. 24th (10am – 5pm), expects about 300 attendees. Don’t miss it.

For the 9th time in Shanghai, the tech community will unite for BarCamp, the famously dubbed “un-conference” where anyone, from a first year student to a renowned entrepreneur, with a deep passion for technology is given a stage to share their ideas with like-minded techies. Hosted by TechYizu, a Shanghai-based volunteer group which helps support and organize events for China’s tech community
Born out of reaction to formal, exclusive and boring tech conferences, BarCamp was originally created by techies in Silicon Valley and has now spread to more than 350 cities worldwide. Its ethos is simple but powerful- offer a completely open forum for sharing the latest ideas in technology. This “un-conference” will have no overriding theme, pre-organized activities or limitations on who has the chance to speak. Attendees can expect everything- from the brilliant to bizarre- to be shared during the day.
BarCamp Shanghai is open to anyone and free thanks to sponsors, including SingTel innov8, Google China, and People Squared. More than 300 people are expected to attend this time. Attendees will find new opportunities to network with fellow geeks, exchange ideas, or even host a session.
What is BarCamp?
BarCamp consists of passionate 5-minute presentations on an impromptu topic.
Anyone (yes, anyone!) can sign up to present on anything, just let your own energy and nerdiness shine through.
All presentations are followed by a discussion, the objective is to get everybody involved!
