Crows Coming is a new game for iOS that uses the frontal camera to detect your motions. You play a scarecrow, frantically shaking your head side-to-side to prevent the evil crows from jacking your pumpkins.

It’s a cute and catchy concept game. Not the kind to play for hours on end (it’s a little dizzying), but one that highlights the ingenuity of a developer and the latent potential of iOS devices.

Plus, it can make you make look cool, which is why we all have our iPads and iPhones in the first place, right? The developer writes, “Imagine you are shaking your head in a Starbucks or airport. Everyone will come to say ‘hi’ and ask ‘What cool game are you playing?’” The advert they filmed [below] captures that perfectly.

The game, released August 20 for $0.99 on iTunes, is the first developed by Beijing-based developer Vision Hacker. Note that the game requires an iPad 2 or iPhone 4, as it uses the frontal camera on those devices to sense your body’s motion.

The Vision Hacker team has big plans for this body-motion technology: “What is ‘MYB’ game? It stands for ‘Move Your Body’. Unlike the traditional iOS games that use touch or gravity controls, ‘MYB’ games exploit the power of computer sensors and augmented reality (AR).”

I wonder how long can one play this before he breaks his neck.

    What a stupid idea!

What would be perfect is a game that integrates MYB and music. Something like Dance Revolution.
