A number of social media addicts, experts, and spammers have asked me how to post to Twitter and Sina Weibo simultaneously. The best answer I’ve found to-date is a groovy Chrome Extension called FaWave (a free download).

After installation, a simple click on the FaWave icon in your Chrome browser bar and you can post out or read the latest content from up to 16 sites. In addition to Twitter and Sina Weibo, you can also post to Facebook, Tencent Weibo, Douban, etc. Somehow I think you’ll have to wait a while before Tweetdeck (recently acquired by Twitter) adds support for Chinese sites.

You can also browse the latest content from each channel via the convenient pop-up, though it’s limited to only one column at present. Unfortunately you do still need to keep your VPN running–but if you’re like me, you have it running 24/7 anyway.

To start:

  1. Download FaWave for free from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Add your various social media accounts via the FaWave options tab.
  3. Thank @QLeelulu and @Python发烧友 for creating this groovy extension.

Now excuse me while I tweet & weibo this out via FaWave.

FaWave supports 16 social media sites. #overshare

It does provide you with a full feed of activity coming from each service. That or they’re waiting to take you to the cleaners, biding their time for a richer target than me :)

Not that much, they forgot to ask access to you credit card information.

finally there appears a product that can meet my needs. but obviously, the market needs more like this to syncronize different social media services. if im the coding guy, i’d like to jump into this pool.

just adding an account is quite some work. They ask for too much technical info

Did you ever figure out how to add Twitter.  Even though I am in IT, I can’t figure out what they want in the API Agent box.

just leave that blank. add the authorization code and click add.
